Motu Mahana: A Private Nude Island Escape

When we say the Paul Gauguin South Pacific Escape cruise is a Bare Bucket List cruise we’re not messing around. The ship’s staff knows your name and favorite beverage after only a few days aboard! The only thing that could make this ship better would be the ability to enjoy it au naturel and we’ve arranged to do just that.

The itinerary features the Society, Tuamotus, Marquesas, and the Cook Islands and that’s reason enough to put it on your list. One of the highlights of the itinerary is our nude island day on the private islet, Motu Mahana. The islet is off the coast of Taha’a and is perfect for snorkeling, water sports, and barbecuing. It features a full bar service and Polynesian hospitality.

Picture yourself in French Polynesia on a brilliantly sunny morning. You step out bare onto your private balcony aboard MS Paul Gauguin to a balmy breeze and view the almost uninhabited Taha’a, with its carpet of greenery, rising out of a cerulean sea. Just offshore lies Motu Mahana, Paul Gauguin Cruises’ private South Seas Island, where you’ll spend a day doing exactly what you please.

There’s no end to the indulgences on this private island paradise. Go for a skinny dip in the warm waters. Snorkel with colorful tropical fish among the green and purple blooms of coral or paddle out on one of the kayaks that have been brought to shore from The Gauguin’s water sports marina.

Ashore, you might engage in a game of nude volleyball or watch as your hosts, Les Gauguines and Les Gauguins, demonstrate how to open a coconut or tie a pareo. Perhaps you’ll treat yourself to an overwater massage. When the time comes for refreshments, delight in a sumptuous barbecue feast — complete with cocktails from our floating bar.

If an experience like this is on your Bare Bucket List then maybe this is the year to make your dream a reality. We still have a few cabins left. Join us in Bare-adise!
